Refugee camps and IDP Camps in Iraq
Global relief did it again! In December we revisited camps in Iraq. A previous visit was so overwhelming – hearing people’s experiences who lost everything. They lost their families, business, possessions, even their documents and sadly even hope. They cannot return to their homes, even if by a miracle, peace should arrive
They cannot return to their homes, even if by a miracle, peace should arrive today. The enemy even planted bombs in the cities they captured. We then bought and distributed blankets and food parcels. I noticed the traumatized children showed little emotion, even when receiving gifts. We taught them to skip “African Style” in rows!

December 2014 visit: How do you respond to 1,8 Milion people in camps – refugees from Syria, displaced people from Mosul and other Iraq areas? We saw thousands of people in white tents. The camps are very well
We saw thousands of people in white tents. The camps are very well organized, clean, with an education system with school classes, even daily refuge removal.
This time we build a jungle gym playground and took material for making finger puppets and to do kite flying. Hopefully, it will help in their healing.
We should not complain about our petty challenges – they wish for an opportunity to uplift themselves – what will you do to help?
Playground Project
We are building jungle gyms, swings, see-saws for children in IDP camps in Middle East. We have done it before in other war zones and seen great joy in traumatized children. Please
support the project !
