Have you found yourself complaining about the taste of tap water? Buying mineral water instead? You won’t be the first.
Our work among the refugees never fails to remind you how much we take for granted every day. Including clean water right from a tap in your house.
A lack of clean and safe water in the camps for Internally Displaced People (IDP’s) leads to many problems including the spread of Cholera.
According to the World Health Organization, Cholera can kill within hours if left untreated. Safe water and sanitation can stop outbreaks and keep the disease from spreading.
But safe water is no small thing in IDP camps. These sachets are a practical and simple solution. You only pour the contents into a container of water, stir, and leave it for twenty minutes and it will be completely safe to drink.
Please sponsor sachets to give people safe drinking water. R3-50 will purify a 25-liter bucket or container. R450-00 will make a 5000-liter tank full of water safe to drink.
We are distributing blankets and Electric heaters to destitute people living in open – half-completed buildings in Iraq. Many people in South Africa also knitted teddies and the children appreciate them!
Global relief did it again! In December we revisited camps in Iraq. A previous visit was so overwhelming – hearing people’s experiences who lost everything. They lost their families, business, possessions, even their documents and sadly even hope. They cannot return to their homes, even if by a miracle, peace should arrive
They cannot return to their homes, even if by a miracle, peace should arrive today. The enemy even planted bombs in the cities they captured. We then bought and distributed blankets and food parcels. I noticed the traumatized children showed little emotion, even when receiving gifts. We taught them to skip “African Style” in rows!

December 2014 visit: How do you respond to 1,8 Milion people in camps – refugees from Syria, displaced people from Mosul and other Iraq areas? We saw thousands of people in white tents. The camps are very well
We saw thousands of people in white tents. The camps are very well organized, clean, with an education system with school classes, even daily refuge removal.
This time we build a jungle gym playground and took material for making finger puppets and to do kite flying. Hopefully, it will help in their healing.
We should not complain about our petty challenges – they wish for an opportunity to uplift themselves – what will you do to help?
